The Iowa Fair Trade Campaign advocates a new fair trading model that will create a sustainable global economy that benefits all working people. We insist that a dramatic change in course is necessary to bring, one that does away with the harmful and anti-democratic provisions in all trade deals — past, present & future — those that lead to a race to the bottom. Specifically, we propose:

  1. Reviewing and potentially renegotiating corporate trade deals like NAFTA and the WTO
  2. Replacing Fast Track with a model allowing increased negotiating power to elected Members of Congress
  3. Implementing trade policies that bring our trade deficit back into balance
